I really hope this looks like water, I'm testing out a new technique I thought up, please critique.

Thanks to Kumon on flickr for the frog source.

Thanks. In a nutshell, the new technique is to make a ball out of glass the refracts and reflects the background image depending on the lighting, using a field, Mpuetz's blackbox, and a gradient, then, when I got that done, I was free to use the chroming technique, which I am still writing the tutorial for, but basically, it is just mapping each angel of the chrome sphere to the each angel similar to it in the object your chroming.

The finishing touches like the shadows, the additional highlights, depth of field, and more can each be found in a different tut.

Your work made me go look at real and created water droplets. I found this one very interesting.

It made me think a lot about the lighting as well as the shadows.

Fantastic image, you are defiantly a master with the water technique. The depth of field is a great little detail that most would over look. Nicely done.

A possible reason people might be having trouble with the frog, is that it is sitting on top of the branch. The drops surface tension mold its bottom to the branch but the frog isn't the same way. You should do both the same. Either both with or without surface tension. Just a thought.

Going through this file is an education in technique. Marvelously well done. The frog reminds me of case glass, with a thick layer of clear glass over a green inner form. I love how your frog still has personality.

Thanks. Maybe I could help, it took me some getting used to, but once you understand the way the features differently work, it can have the full capacity of photoshop (minus a warp tool, or a working smudge tool).

Where were you having trouble?

Bit delayed, haha

That's exactly where my troubles are, the smudge and warp tool :/
