I am not sure, I think I saw a image of an octopus on the discovery channel or something. I was fascinated by the texture on its body, and that is probably where it came from. I also like to put my subjects in unusual situations, so why not an octopus having tea. I would like to say I keep a sketch book, but I don't. All of my doodles and concept drawings are done on scrap paper, back of envelopes, and pieces of cardboard. As you can see I had a few doodles of the octo and really didn't deviate from the initial drawing.

is there any way you could make a tut on this method of vectoring? It looks amazing, I'd love to know how it was done.

Very well done! I hope to be able to color my art (mostly pencil sketches) in this way, that is amazing!
