I really want to knoww how you did thattt, please some one answer me? ive been trying that for about a week and i cant seem to do it. but i need more than one section coloredd.

This is really easy to do. This is not your typical color splash, as I painted the color in, instead of desaturating parts of the image.

Start with your black and white photo.
Create a new layer
change your layer Blend Mode to Overlay
Select a small sized round paint brush and the color you want to paint.
In the new layer, paint just the hat.
Create a new layer for the eyes
Create a new layer for the lips and simply paint. The overlay blend mode is what makes your paint transparent. Here is a screen print of how to set up your layers. If you need additional help, just let me know :-)

You upload a B&W image to begin with or you make it B&W with the program?
